A few days or in a few hours from now, thousands of college students would have to face greater challenges and more complicated situations all summed up and tagged as REAL LIFE.
It doesn’t mean that you’re not living a real life when you are in school. The phrase just want you to realize that whatever you did and whatever you have gone through in school – complying with crazy deadlines, taking exams you think do not matter to you, working with different set of people on projects, etc., – those are all part of your training as you are molded to be a competent part of the society.
A few weeks before my own graduation, I can’t seem to digest everything associated with that ‘finishing-off-from-college’ thing. Clearance signing, graduation picture, pahabol projects, completing requirements, starting to say goodbye to people at school – the last thing seemed to be the hardest one for most of us.
Are you ready to face the world? Do you think you’re competent enough to become a part of the field you long wanted to be at?
At times, we took for granted those projects handed to us. We attend seminars only for the sake of attending it and then sneak out of the venue when boredom strikes. We get used to cramming; to asking for the deadline to be extended and then killing it again. Little did we know that when it comes to the real world, bosses are harder to please and you can’t just ask for another day for you to waste again.
People can sometimes be difficult when you’re already out there. If you have classmates who are always getting into your nerves, they were there so you could learn how to deal with future officemates who you would soon call names and try to get even with. Haha.
I suggest that as early as now, you try hunting for your dream job. Know what you really want to do and where you truly want to be. ‘Cause once you’re out of the four corners of your university, there’s no turning back (unless you want a job in the institution or pursue a higher degree). I know you know what I mean. You have to go after you dream and the whole world expect you to do your part.
And hey, don’t miss your graduation day. Believe me, if you’re a hard-headed brat who think it’s just a waste of time, the bliss would get into you no matter what. March, smile, and thank Him for that huge achievement you were able to have.
🙂
