These days we are bombarded by so many campaign materials and gimmickry. Who we put in public office will play a big role in determining our future and that of the next generation. Soon the winners will be proclaimed. And if they win, will their victory be in favor of the nation? They will take the oath of service. Let’s just hope they are good shepherds as they promised. So crucial is this time for all of us. Therefore we must vote wisely. Let us choose the leaders who really are good shepherds.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd because he knows his sheep and they hear his voice. Jesus knows you through and through. He loves you even before you were conceived in your mother’s womb. He knows you more than you know yourself. He knows your voice. He knows what’s in your mind and in your heart every single moment. He knows your darkest past. He knows your deepest secrets. But he loves you just the same. Yes, he loves you beyond your imagination.
So what now? Allow yourself to be carried on his shoulders. That’s what he wants to do. Let him take you by the hand and rest in his loving and secure arms. Believe and trust in his mercy and love, for it knows no boundaries. It sets no conditions. What a Good Shepherd we have in Jesus!
