You’ve learned that we’ll have two long weekends coming near. Hooray! But if you work in a BPO company or in malls, don’t sulk, ’cause you can party [some other time] like it’s the end of the world. 😉
We have three non-working holidays this August: the 20th (Monday) is for Eid al-Fitr or the end of Ramadan for our Muslim brothers, the 21st is Ninoy Aquino Day (Tuesday), and the 27th (Monday) is National Heroes Day.
So, anong plano mo?
That’s a total of seven days off from work including the Saturdays and Sundays. If you don’t have any specific plans, see if this long weekend holiday guide can help you.
August 18, Saturday — Watch the special screening of the indie film, MNL 143 directed by our kababayan Emerson Reyes at SM City Lipa Cinema 4. There are only two screening schedules though, 5PM and 7PM. To check if there are still tickets available, contact Stib Cardona at 0917-945-1557.
August 19, Sunday — Because this is the Sunday that’s nearest to the first payday of the month, take advantage of the Red Hot Sale at Robinsons Place Lipa where you can purchase selected items at 70% off the original price! The Red Hot Sale started last Friday, Aug. 10, and will run until the end of the month.
August 20, Monday — Get off to bed early on Sunday and get up early on this day to start a healthy week. We understand it’s tempting to hit the snooze button a few times over especially on a Monday when you think you should be waking up late, but we’re sure you’re not getting pleased with those ‘extra baggage’ on your tummy.
Go biking or run around the neighborhood. Tandaan, health is wealth. 😉
August 21, Tuesday — Repeat your chosen healthy activity that you did on Monday. Then extend the trying-to-live-a-healthier-lifestyle thing to your kitchen. Research for some healthy meals na pwede mong lutuin everyday depende sa diet mo.
*Plan A for the second long weekend
August 25, Saturday to August 27, Monday — If you have loads of spare money in the bank, bring your family to a weekend trip out of town or out of the country. Schedule your departure by Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning. Going back as early as you can on Monday will give you some time to prepare for going back to reality on Tuesday.
BUT, if you’re just like most of us who don’t have much to spare for an ultimate weekend getaway, eto ang para sa inyo.
*Plan B for the second long weekend

August 26, Sunday — Why not attend mass on a church aside from the parish church you visit every Sunday? Hear mass in the largest Catholic Church in Asia, the Basilica of St. Martin de Tours in Taal.
August 27, Monday — Go on a food trip. Plot your gastronomical adventure for the rest of the day. Our previous stories under food and dining in Batangas might help you.
