UCCL 12th Season Kicks Off!

The United Collegiate Championship League (UCCL) opened its 12th season on August 18, 2018 at FAITH Colleges in Tanauan City, Batangas with 26 participating schools.

Formerly North Batangas Open League (NBOL), UCCL promotes friendly yet competitive games among the athletes and schools in Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon. 

Leading the opening are UCCL Co-founder and Tournament Director Damilito Arim and UCCL President Juan P. Lozano.

The opening will also be graced by the Tanauan Little League who recently captured the 2018 Senior League Softball World Series Championship held in Delaware, USA. The Tanauan softbelles, mostly scholars of FAITH Fidelis Senior High School, received a special recognition from UCCL.

Five basketball games will be played on opening day at the Indoor Sports Arena and Activity Center (ISAAC) of FAITH Colleges.

Host school FAITH Colleges saw action in a match with Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite (EAC-C), Men-A Division. Last year’s champs, Olivarez College, Parañaque played against Malayan College Laguna (MCL) on Game 2, Men-A Division.  University of Batangas- Lipa City battled it out after with Colegio San Agustin (CSA)-Biñan, Men-B Competition.  This was followed by a Boys-A game between University of Batangas- Lipa City and College of Science Technology and Communications Incorporation (CSTC), Sariaya, Quezon.  Last game was between last year’s 1strunner up Trace College, Los Baños, Laguna (TC-LB) and De la Salle Lipa (DLSL), last year’s 2ndrunner-up, Men-B Division.

Aside from basketball, other UCCL events are volleyball, football, baseball, futsal, beach volleyball, and chess.

The other participating schools are Calayan Educational Foundation Incorporation (CEFI), Quezon Province; Citi Global College (CGC), Cabuyao Laguna; Holy Trinity School (HTS)-Padre Garcia, Batangas; International School for Better Beginnings (ISBB)-Quezon Province; La Consolacion College Tanauan City (LC-TC); Laguna College of Business Administration (LCBA); Laguna College of Business Administration (LCBA); Lyceum of the Philippines University Laguna (LPU-L); The Nazareth School, Lipa City; Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas (PCU-D); San Pablo Colleges (SPC), San Pablo, Laguna; San Pedro College of Business Administration (LCBA), San Pedro Laguna; Stonyhurst Southville International School (SSIS)-Batangas City; Stonyhurst Southville International School (SSIS)-Lipa City; St. Jude College (SJC), Cavite; University of Batangas-Batangas City; and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), Calamba City; and for the first time, a DepED school–Tinurik National High School from Tanauan.
