Weekend Highs and Lows: Pacquiao, Bebeng, Mother’s Day, NBA Playoffs

The weekend came and passed by in a hurl. We had too much to look forward to in the weekend that has ended and we had noted some highs and lows.

HIGHS

Pacman’s Victory

It was a booooriiiing fight. As in boo Mosley. I know many of you thought of the same thing. There are a couple of “the fortunate Batangueños” who flew to Las Vegas to watch the bout live in front of their eyes but did they think it was a waste of time and money travelling thousands of miles across the globe just to see a running-rather-than-punching Mosley?

Congratulations, Congressman Manny Pacquiao! 🙂

Mother’s Day

Sweet celebration. ‘Nuf said. And probably one of the happiest Moms in the world? Mommy Dionisia. Haha. Hermes bag, come to Mommy D! 🙂

NBA Playoffs

Atlanta Hawks beat Chicago Bulls in Game 4 with final score, 100-88. So this one’s a lowlight for Bulls fans.

LOWS

Typhoon Bebeng

I was in Laiya, San Juan over the weekend and that was one unforgettable experience having stayed by the beach as the ‘unexpected’ hitting of Typhoon Bebeng in Batangas forbid us to enjoy the sun. Great! There were strong waves, continuous downfall, gray skies. What a trip. And that’s our last hurrah for summer 2011.

Several cities suffered flooding in Metro Manila and left 9 people dead and 1 missing.

NBA Playoffs

Why it’s down here as well? Because it’s a lowlight for Lakers fans and coach Phil Jackson. Dallas Mavericks bested LA Lakers; Game 4 final score: 122-86. Aww. Boo Mavericks! 😀 So long for the Lake Show next season.
