Have you tried visiting a salon and got lost in translation when the beckies started conversing in their beckimese language?
Beckies, bekimons – whatever you call the members of the gay community – have that funny, clever ability in coining words to add in their growing dictionary of beckimese terms.
I must confess, I have the tendency na maging becky at times. Hindi ko nga alam kung matatawa ako o mahihiya kasi nakakahawa yata ako ng mga kaopisina at mga kaibigan ko. Imagine my punk rock teammates here in WOWBatangas speaking “aketch” and “chorvaloo”. Ansagwa.
I came across this Badafinition article on spot.ph and thought of well, writing quite a similar post but I’ll have the basic becky terms only.
Tingnan natin kung relate ka sa mga terms na itey:
Akez, aketch – ako
Anda, andalucia – pera
Anez, anik – ano
Balaysung, balur – bahay
Bitter Ocampo – bitter na tao
Betsung – gusto
Borlog – tulog
Chaka, Chuckie Dreyfuss – pangit
Char, charot, charing – expression (walang definite definition)
Chipangga – cheap

Admit it or not, creative talaga ang mga beckies. And I don’t see anything wrong with speaking beckimese. Of course, dapat lang nasa lugar. Tamang katuwaan lang. 😉
Parang itong eksena nila Divine Lee at ng mga superfriends nyang beckies. Watch this vid.
