Top CaLaBaRZon Educators Gather in Lipa for 8th Gawad Patnugot

Around 600 top-performing teachers, school heads, and Department of Education (DepEd) officials from all over CalaBarZon gathered at the Lipa Sports Academy last Monday, August 14, for the 8th Gawad Patnugot— an annual awards ceremony that recognizes exemplary performances in the educational sector of the region.

Deped Region 4-A Director Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte emphasized that this event inspired and motivated DepEd officials especially those from the teaching category to excel in their duties and responsibilities and that this annual conferment of awards is one way of complementing and magnifying the accomplishments of DepEd officials and employees.  

“The value and quality of our performance are in direct proportion to the impact and dedication that we’ve accomplished in our respective offices… and our legacy as public servants is best measured by performances that outlast our retirement,” he furthered.

On the other hand, Ms. Cassandra B. Calanog of Feliciano Leviste Memorial National High School, Schools Division of Batangas Province was awarded the Pinakamahusay na Guro sa Sekondarya award (Best High School Teacher) besting nominees from other SDOs. Calanog, in her appreciation speech, thanked God and her DepEd Schools Division Office (SDO) Batangas Province family for their support on her and her fellow teachers’ strong will to provide learners with the best quality education possible.

Meanwhile, Deped SDO Lucena City was deemed the best Schools Division Office of the region.

Gawad Patnugot also featured and recognized excelling Master Teachers, School Principals, Officials and other teaching and non- teaching employees of the region.

It was the 8th installment of the prestigious and much-awaited Gawad Patnugot and SDO Lipa City’s second time hosting the event.
