It came as a surprise. Okay, so we are not aware that yesterday (Aug. 6) will be the Batangas leg of Pinoy, You Got It! nationwide concert tour. It’s the first concert tour of Pilipinas Got Talent finalists, and of course, fronted by PGT’s Grand Champion, Jovit Baldivino.
It’s like an ordinary day for the team. Until Georgia Reyes, our partner make-up artist who dropped by the office for an important agenda, received an unexpected call from a guy who introduced himself as Jovit’s handler. The handler was looking for a make-up artist based in Lipa City for the PGT performers’ make-up.
Whoa! And so Georgia got so excited he swiftly vanished in front of our eyes leaving for this wonderful chance. But we got just as excited as well, they told me to go with Georgia and take this chance to interview the current Batangueno superstar, Jovit.
After about two hours from that surprising call, we found ourselves at the Library Hub of Lipa City Youth and Cultural Center (concert venue)where the PGT finalists and special guest, Juris, were staying before the concert (set at 8pm last night). Gerlie and I walked inside and surprisingly, no security people blocked our way. We immediately approached Jovit and introduced ourselves.
In the room were Juris and PGT finalists Markki Stroem, the Ezra Band, Sherwin Baguion, and Keith Delleva. So the exclusive WOWBatangas chitchat with Jovit began…
This is Jovit’s first official concert here in Batangas after winning the hit talent search program, Pilipinas Got Talent. When asked how he handles the pressure of showbizness, Jovit shared the importance of taking care of the fans: “Syempre, kailangang alagaan ang mga fans kasi kung wala sila, wala rin naman kami dito, eh.”
The native of Marilag, Rosario also shared that he’s already adjusted to his busy schedule. Recently, Jovit’s first music video was released by Star Records (his official music label). So I asked how was it, shooting his first music video and he replied: “Ah masaya. Syempre kasi first music video ko yun. Tapos, walang bad comments… Isang araw lang shinoot.”
Jovit also talked about his acting debut. He is part of the soon-to-be released musical-dramedy teleserye of ABS-CBN, iDOL, topbilled by Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby, and Coco Martin. What’s his role in this teleserye? “Kinakapatid ko si Kuya Coco.” Lucky Jovit!
Jovit became a millionaire at such a young age. How does he feel about it and his current young superstar status? “Ay, talagang hindi ako makapaniwala na ako ang magcha-champion kasi sa sobrang daming magagaling na nakalaban ko, hindi ko akalain na ako ang mananalo.”
Jovit’s last words: “Sa lahat, maraming salamat sa binigay n’yong suporta. Lalo na sa mga kababayan ko sa Rosario, Padre Garcia, sa Ibaan, Taysan, at dito din sa mga taga-Lipa. Maraming salamat!”
May pahabol pa s’ya: “Sa mga katulad ko din na nangangarap, ‘wag mawalan ng pag-asa… Don’t stop believing.”
Jovit’s very approachable. And we all wish he would stay grounded. Thank you Jovit! 🙂
Woah! Cool!
Woah! Cool!
Maybe going for gorilla glue for your chair instead of a car would be good for your dissertation? And to trash your ideas that a Prius or any other new car is environmentally friendly, please remember that it would be way more sustainable to not create new demand and instead go for an old gas-guzzling 8 cylinder and spend the rest of your hard-earned (?) stipend on Save the Children or other worthy causes. Just the 2c of a fellow PhD student.
