Makro Batangas City recently held a cooking contest dubbed as Lutong Makro. Representatives from different hotels, restaurants, and catering services in the city participated in the said cooking contest.
Chefs Aries and Allen of Che and Dex catering services were adjudged as the grand champions. They prepared a pan grilled chicken with coconut cream sauce and bell pepper orange salsa that gave judges a one of a kind gustatory sensation. The winners received P10,000 worth of gift check and P15,000 worth of carinderia showcase and groceries from Makro Batangas City branch. Other winners were chefs from Dampa Seafood Restaurant, 2nd and Al Goto King, 3rd.
Chicken was the main course of Lutong Makro. All the ingredients and cooking utensils were provided by Makro. All the contestants were given an hour to cook their special chicken recipe. The following were the criteria for judging: Taste – 50%, presentation – 25, Originality – 10%, Speed – 10% and Audience Vote – 5%
Meanwhile, all the winning recipes from all Makro branches nationwide, will be published on next month’s issue of Flavors Magazine.
