Anilao in Mabini has been considered as one of the most important tourism gems of the Batangas province. It has been dubbed as the scuba diving mecca of the Philippines and so it’s safe to say that diving is more fun in Batangas!
But there’s more to diving that makes Anilao a paradise for people who are yearning for an out-of-town getaway. It’s a popular destination for Manileños who are up for a weekend of R & R. For sure there’d be a rush of tourist bookings this Friday for the long weekend.
If you’re not a diver, how will you enjoy Anilao? These three things (and then some) will give you an unforgettable trip to this side of Batangas.
1. Aqua sports. I miss kayaking! I remember our trip to Dive Solana in 2010, we had the best time juggling snorkeling and kayaking until the sun had settled down.
The sports activities depend on what the resort your staying at offers though. If you’re lucky enough, you can do windsurfing, jet skiing, or choose between a banana boat ride or a pedal boat ride.
2. Snorkeling. If you can’t dive, for sure you can do this. Even at some shallow parts of the water, you can already see how Mabini is endowed with a very rich marine sanctuary.
3. Trekking and island hopping. Really, it’s up to you how you can maximize your stay and have the best Anilao adventure you’ve always wanted. Anilao is magnificent over and under. Over at Mt. Gulugod Baboy and under the world-famous diving sites of Sombrero Island, Mainit Point, Mapating, Maricaban Island, and Cathedral.
In any way, in any place, a trip is best experienced with your favorite company. Oh, we’re heading to Anilao this afternoon and I know we’re up for another exciting adventure!
We’ll enjoy the sun and sea on the other side ’cause we can already feel the Christmas breeze here and I’m not yet prepared. Haha. I came across this line somewhere on Facebook yesterday – there’s always summer somewhere. Indeed!
